April 30, 2010: When It Comes To Mortal Enemies, Patti Digh Is the Best

What can you say about Patti Digh?  Actually, plenty.  You may have noticed that many, many things are constantly being said.  About Patti.  In numerous locations and on numerous occasions.  All the time.  Everywhere.  In fact, few people are so stupendously undeserving of all of the fuss and attention they receive as Patti Digh.  Darling Patti Digh.

It is likely that the many regular observers of the Patti Digh and Kay Ballard twitter conversations expect that their Women Are Not Funny Radio conversation will be something of a Smackdown!  Not true.  Despite the fact that the two women are authentically Mortal Enemies and capable of being notoriously hateful to each other, they are also quite capable of obnoxious phony decorum and highly pretentious intellectualism.

Patti Digh is a regular featured guest on Women Are Not Funny Radio and this appearance marks the May release of the audio version of her best selling book, Life is a Verb.

Please accept this personal invitation to join Patti Digh and Kay Ballard for the fun of it.

April 23, 2010: A Tribute to a Girlish Mother

Everyone has a mother, and Kay Ballard is no exception. April 23 is her mother’s birthday.  This special edition of Women Are Not Funny Radio will be a celebration of the woman who had the audacity to bring Kay into this world. Kay promises to tell tall tales of her mother’s youth, thereby turning the table.  There will be surprise special guests with amusing stories about a life that spanned much of the twentieth century and remains full of vitality and expectancy in the twenty-first.

As a special treat and special tribute, the incredibly talented jazz pianist, Clay Cotton, has given us permission to play his song, Hot Little Momma! Perfect!

April 16, 2010: The Truth About Men

Liz Scherer and Kay Ballard know nothing about men.  Nothing.  But that doesn’t keep them from pretending otherwise. The two know-it-alls plan to tell all and even make stuff up.  Especially make stuff up.  Both of them are single and living through recent heartbreaks.  And each is trying to determine whether she needs a new man or whether she already has way too many.  But instead of dealing with such a ponderous question, they have agreed to spend the hour consoling each other by making ridiculously outrageous generalizations about men.  The Truth About Men–Women Are Not Funny style.

Liz is a writer who earns her living as a digital copywriter, health reporter, scriptwriter, marketing and social media consultant and blogger. Formerly Vice President and Manager of Marketing and New Business for a New York-based public relations firm, she now has a charming aversion to the phone. But she promises to avert her aversion for us, for one hour! How fabulous is that? Quite fabulous! Because Liz is very funny.
