April 2, 2010: She’s Legal and Literate and Legally Literate

Hanna Hasl-Kelchner claims to be The No Nonsense Lawyer™ and all evidence would indicate that she just might be. Goodness knows why she would decide to spend time talking with Kay who merely claims to be the The Blonde Lawyer™.  Fortunately for Women Are Not Funny Radio that is exactly what Hanna has agreed to do.

Hanna is a corporate lawyer and author of Business Guide to Legal Literacy, in which she reveals what every manager and small business owner should know about the law. Hanna has had a varied and distinguished legal career and has even done a stint as adjunct professor at Duke University’s executive MBA program.  Nonetheless, Kay will do her annoying best to persuade Hanna that this appearance on Women Are Not Funny Radio is the highlight, thus far, of Hanna’s career.

These two women lawyers, lawyers who graduated from law school, are possibly capable of talking about things outside the legal realm– like which lawyer joke is their favorite and which Supreme Court Justices are really cute and which shoe designer has personal jurisdiction.

March 26, 2010: Coversations with Celebrities

Kristy Sammis has a lot to say. But she admits having a difficult time talking with celebrities. Given that, how on earth will she be able to talk with Kay? Perhaps on this edition of Women Are Not Funny Kay will be able to help Kristy overcome the problem. We hope so because there is so much for the two women to talk about. Like falling down. And Eve, Kristy’s beautiful baby daughter who is already the source of highly valued anticipatory guilt. And blogging–life blogging, humor blogging, prom blogging–and where the three intersect. And husbands. And whether husbands are a good idea generally. And falling down.

March 19, 2010: Oh My Goodness! We Are Media Moguls!

Sandi McKenna is an amazing woman!  She might be Kay Ballard’s role model except that Kay is too self-important to seek a role model.  Instead, the two women are friends.  Friends who are Media Moguls.  They have agreed to take time away from building their respective media empires to talk with each other about how awesome they think they each are.  Sandi is the actual producer of Midlife Road Trip and “plays” the producer on-camera to great comedic effect.  She is also the creator of the concept of the cookie as a comedy device.  This is truly “must see” radio!

March 12, 2010: A Kay Kay’s Divorce Celebration

Not surprisingly, Kay Ballard, a master of self-serving self-promotion, has dedicated the hour to a celebration of the release of her comedy CD  Kay Kay’s Divorce: I’d Fall in Love with Anyone.  Her guests will be the people she lovingly refers to as the CD Babies–the talented friends and colleagues who were collaborators in the tasty travesty, also known as Kay Kay’s Divorce.  Kay will talk with the chanteuse and producer, Paula Kelley, the graphic designer, Kate Carpenter, the press agent, Emma Alvarez Gibson, and her partner and co-executive producer, Kemal Ispirli.  You can only be CD Babies once–thank goodness!  These CD Babies will invent hilarious stories about the production and celebrate the launch of the enchanting and quirky product.

March 5, 2010: Naming Conventions and Texas Hugs!

Kay is a big fan of the Whip Smart, Emma Alvarez Gibson, and after you meet her here at Women Are Not Funny Radio, you will be as well.  What will they talk about?  They could be guilty of talking about almost anything, but they have agreed to talk about Names and Naming and Naming Conventions–because they find themselves hilarious and they each have thousands of name related stories to tell.
